Story behind the lyrics - "She"

For this song, as it often happens, I had the vocal melodies in my head.

All of the singing parts;

- the final chorus "Outside of here, that's what I want (...)"

- the verse beginning with "All these angels that I prayed (...) "

- the bridge with a climax "Look into my eyes, Will I hear children lullabies? (...)" as much as the "yeah eh ey" that you can hear at 1:13 and the "Oooo oooouh" part at 4:02, were already sounding in my head. The final trigger to set the theme and the lyrics of the song was the testimonial of Mia Schem, that was a hostage victim. You can listen to her testimonial here.

I was deeply touched and moved by both her bravery and the fact that she survived such a traumatic experience.

Now, she speaks out and denounces the acts she suffered, and fights for the victims to be freed.

This song is a tribute to her and to the strength, courage and faith she demonstrated while shrouded in darkness.

In terms of instrumentation, I wrote it on my DAW and constructed it in such a way that it corresponded to the sung parts which were already more or less established. Thanks to my mixing engineer (Ecllyps) we ended up with a well-arranged song ready for the final vocal lines recording.

I released it on September 13th of this year (2024) and it's available on Youtube and streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music and more.
